Is this course suitable for food handlers?
Yes. Our Level 2 course is designed for food handlers, kitchen staff, waiting staff and anyone working in a food business. Our Level 3 course is designed for supervisors, managers and business owners.
Is the certificate accepted by employers?
Employers can review your certificate details — including course title, issue date and assessment result — via our online verification page using your certificate reference number.
Is this a CPD certificate?
Yes. On passing the assessment you receive a CPD certificate of completion issued by Alpha Hygiene Centre, showing the CPD credits associated with the course.
Is this an Ofqual-regulated qualification?
This course provides a CPD certificate of completion issued by Alpha Hygiene Centre. It is designed to support professional development and food hygiene training records. It is not presented as an Ofqual-regulated RQF qualification unless specifically stated.
How long does the course take?
Course duration varies — see the individual course page for the estimated study time. You can complete the modules at your own pace within your access period.
How do I receive my certificate?
After passing the final assessment, your certificate is generated instantly and available to download as a PDF from your dashboard. A copy is also emailed to you.
Can employers verify certificates?
Yes. Employers and businesses can check certificate details using the verification code on our Verify a Certificate page, or by scanning the QR code printed on the certificate.
How long is the certificate valid for?
Alpha Hygiene Centre recommends refresher training every three years to help learners keep their knowledge up to date. An employer or workplace policy may require training sooner.
What happens if I fail the assessment?
If you do not pass the assessment, you may review the course material and retake the assessment. Retake attempts are limited to prevent misuse — see the course page for the exact retake policy.
Can I buy courses for my staff?
Yes. You can purchase multiple learner licences online from any course page, get a 10% discount on 5 or more licences, assign them to your staff and track their progress and certificates from your My Team dashboard. For larger or custom requirements, please contact us.
Do I get instant access after payment?
Yes. Access to your course begins immediately once your payment is confirmed.

Is the Level 2 Food Allergy Awareness course different from Level 2 or Level 3?
Yes. Level 2 Food Allergy Awareness is a standalone course focused specifically on the 14 major allergens and Natasha's Law labelling requirements. It complements Level 2 and Level 3 but does not replace them — most food businesses need both general food hygiene training and allergen-specific training.
Can I complete the course on my phone?
Yes. The platform is fully responsive and works on mobile, tablet and desktop browsers. Your progress is saved automatically, so you can start on one device and continue on another.
What browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge are all supported, on both desktop and mobile.
What happens if my internet connection drops during a module or exam?
Your progress through completed modules and slides is saved as you go, so a dropped connection won't lose your earlier progress. If it happens mid-assessment, simply log back in and restart that assessment attempt.
